PAINTERRapoport Boris N.

Born October 27, 1922 in the village of Soroki in Moldova, in 1927 the family moved to Odessa.

Studied painting in the Odessa House of Pioneers, teachers were Ivan Hvorostetsky and Alexander Ruban. In 1937-1940, he studied at the Kiev Art School, with teachers – Konstantin Yeleva, Petr Nosko, Ilarion Pleschinsky, Oleksandr Syrotenko.

In 1939 Rapoport’s work was exhibited at the International Art Exhibition in New York. He entered the Kyiv Artistic Institute but the training was interrupted by the war. After the liberation of Kiev returns to study.

During 1946-1949 he studied at the landscape art studio of Kyiv Art Institute, with teachers Gregory Svetlitsky, Karpo Trokhimenko, Ilya Stylman.

In 1949, the painting “Spring on the farm” at the Republican exhibition was purchased by the National Art Museum of Ukraine.

Since 1950 – member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

In 1960, a personal exhibition was held in Kyiv.

The works of Rapoport are kept at the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Berdyansk Art, Donetsk Oblast, Lebedinsky City, Lviv National, Poltava Art Museums, private collections in Ukraine and abroad.

The artist died on February 14, 2006.
